The island of Lefkada, is on the west coast of Greece, one of the seven Ionian islands rich in history and age-old tradition. Here, it is believed that Homer set the "Odyssey" and it was there that the poetess Sappho had her unfortunate love affair with Phaon, ending with her leap from one of the island's white cliffs where the temple of Apollo stood, and where nature can be seen in all its beauty.
It is unique amongst the other islands because is separated from the mainland of Greece by a 25m channel with a movable swing bridge that carries a road, thus easily connected with the main road nets to the airport (18 km), Preveza (21km), other major cities and Athens (360km)

On the west coast you have many options for swimming at the best beaches of the island such as Milos beach (900m - 25 mins by foot), Pefkoulia beach (2.5 km - 3 mins by car), Kathisma beach (3.2 km - 6 min by car), Kavalikefta (Kalamitsi) beach (11 km - 24 mins by car), Gialos (Athani) beach (24 km - 40 mins by car) & Porto Katsiki (30 km - 50 mins by car). Agios Nikitas
is on the endless blue west coast of Lefkada island.The village nestles around the bay in a beautiful area full of olive groves and enchanting landscapes.Traditional architecture and local amenities include fresh fish tavernas, restaurants, cafe-bars, ATM, car rentals, bus stop and the beautiful Saint Nikitas’ church. These can all be found on the stone paved pedestrian street, which provides an endless Ionian horizon view with its crystalline waters and picturesque sandy beach.

With its own unique architecture found everywhere in the main Doerpfeld street and the side streets. Τhere is a very interesting collection to be found in the archaeological museum, as well as a precious post byzantine art picture gallery in the building of the public library. There are wonderful old churches including: Aghios Spiridonas, Agh. Nikolaos, Pantokratoras, Agh. Minas etc. with unique pieces of woodcarving & icons. Along the seafront you will find the best taverns and restaurants (KIMA, GOGOS GEFSIS , THIMARI, MOLOS and MARGARITA'S). The closest beaches (2 km) & amongst the best in the island, is Agios Ioannis, Gyra & Kastro. La Casa Rossa is 12 km distant from the town.

Exanthia
is a beautiful village, 11 km from Agios Nikitas village, offering spectacular, uninterrupted views to the unique Ionian sunset and sea. Enjoy a nice meal at "Rachi" restaurant or a cool cocktail at "Fly me". At the same place, you can also find the best lanch spot for paragliding experience on the island.

In the east side of Lefkada Island (20min by car from Lefkada town), you can find the famous Madouri & Skorpios islands.
Just in front of seaside village Nidri, you can see Madouri island with its lush vegetation, embrasing the manor house of the famous Lefkadian poet Valaoritis.
